There is not much hope for people who drop out of college and have no financial stability, especially in Pakistan. Defying all odds, Usman Khan, former rickshaw driver, challenged and changed his destiny.
In 2016, the 33-year old went from being a rickshaw driver to earning six figures a month. How? It all started with an acquaintance of Usman named Omair, who worked in a software house.
Omair took Usman under his wing and started grooming him. After a failed attempt to launch a video portal named SabMaza, Usman laid foundation to a website called MobileRingtones, which gets 25,000 unique visits each day.
To sum it up, the lack of education does not define a person or his/her caliber, hence one should never lose hope.

Today, Usman has moved on to better and bigger projects. What struck me during my conversation with him was his desire to see his story be one among many rather than a one-off. While his extenuating circumstances meant that he just had to keep trying till he succeeded, he realizes not everyone has the same reservoirs of patience.

Honestly, I have a ton of ideas on how to generate income via the internet. If someone’s poor and uneducated, like I was, I want them to know that all is not lost.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, has been lauded as Pakistan’s first Oscar winner by the press and government. The Pakistani President conferred the Hill-e-Imtiaz on Obaid-Chinoy on 23 March 2012, for bringing honor to Pakistan as a filmmaker. Saving Face the film exposes the horrifying brutal acid attacks on women, and the amazing work of the British Pakistani plastic surgeon Mohammed Jawad, who travelled back to his country birth to rebuild the victims’ disfigured faces. Obaid-Chinoy dedicated the Oscar to “all the heroes working on the ground in Pakistan” and to “all the women in Pakistan who are working for change”.

we cannot but feel good.

I was a bit upset when during an expensive breakfast in a hotel,only one of the three coffee machines was working.When I headed for some orange juice, that seemed to be finished too.Then a waiter came with a tray full of glasses,The almost empty tray was still there and I saw him struggling.

I took the empty tray away and it was easy for him  to put the new one in place.Then I gave the other one to him.

This simple act of kindness made me feel good. We cannot feel good and upset at the same time. The lack of orange juice and the faulty coffee machinesdid matter suddenly a lot less.

It was the smile of the waiter, his sigh of relief and his warm thank you
that made up how I felt for the next ten minutes at least. 


I think there is so much wisdom in loving your neighbors as yourself,in offering a helping hand whenever we can.

People who constantly think how poor they are, how difficult are their lives, and how more difficult they are going to be, stay in the same situation, and might even make it worse.


A thought, together with a strong desire and perseverance, turn dreams into reality.
