50 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

                     Live Your Dream

      50 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

I am so fortunate to have Anne enjoying these adventures as my partner during the last 20 years that we have been travelling, living in, photographing and exploring Central American countries. We were both devistated when Anne experienced a crippling attack on her body when she was in her early 40’s.
Within a couple of years her joints were fusing and back and neck bending and twisting with an aggressive case of ankylosing spondylitis. Where it normally would affect the spine mostly, Anne lost motion in her hips, pelvis, shoulder, neck and back. Within a short period of time the expansion of her rib cage was restricted to less than 1/2 inch from a normal 2 inches that most of us have. The doctors prognosis was that she would probably be in a wheelchair by her mid 50’s. —— And we had all this adventure planned for our life once the kids left home.
Anne decided to make the best of it, and refuses to give in to the lack of agility and the severe pain that she has at times. Her yearly monitoring by her doctor, shows slow advancement compared to the early years of the disease setting in. The doc’s conclusion to Anne for the past few years, is keep doing what you are doing. It must be your attitude and disposition that is keeping you mobile. Of course I am her right hand man, watching for oncoming cars that she can’t turn her head to see, and putting her socks on because she can’t reach her feet, I have to stop as we walk at times - as she catches her breath, especially at the high altitudes we live in. And so we have a pile of fun as long as we are able to do it. Explore, document, climb volcanos, walk endless miles in hilly towns and cities and rough roads each day.
Not a day when I have doubted my love for this girl. We got to enjoy our 50’nd Wedding Anniversary, while visiting the stunningly rugged and beautiful Mayan towns surrounding Lake Atitlan in Guatemala this past week. A half hour speedboat ride across the lake, got us to the artisan town of San Juan la Laguna, where we had breakfast and I took the photo showing some of the beauty I was enjoying in the foreground as well as the background

        50 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

Anyway this is the love of my life as we head on to 50 years of loving and supporting each other.

life is beautiful: LIVE YOUR DREAMS

life is beautiful: LIVE YOUR DREAMS:                                                                                                  LIVE YOUR DREAMS                ...

LIVE YOUR DREAMS

                                            LIVE YOUR DREAMS

                         I AM NOT MY CIRCUMSTANCES

I am Earam Tahmoor  from Bahreen, united state. I am author, fashion model, motivational speaker, entrepreneur, mentor, and woman of God. My life has proven to be a journey of unexpected challenges. I developed a rare form of cancer (Rhabdomysarcoma) at 3 years old. As a result of cancer, multiple surgeries(too many to count), along with chemo, and radiation treatments I was force to have two permanent ostomy which aides my bladder and bowel functions that cause me to have ostomy bags for rest of my life.

Through my journey and faith I discovered who I could be in spite of my medical circumstances. My insecurities did not change overnight, but I learned to be a survivor. It is a blessing to have my desires and passions come true. I have been a fashion (editorial and runway) model for over 17 years, yes with two ostomy bags. To see the outer appearance no one could ever tell I live with these adversities and what I deal with 24 hours/7 days a week.

My ostomy “bags” do not define me. I am helping cancer survivors, inspiring ostomy patients, motivating fashion models, and encouraging those suffering with low self-esteem. I used to say, why me?’ why cancer, why ostomy bags? Now I say, ‘why not me?’ Just because you have some difficulties in life doesn’t mean you can’t make it. We have the ability to make a difference, to change lives, be role model, and be all that we can be in spite of life circumstances.

“Live your life on purpose with a purpose for a purpose.
                                                I AM NOT MY CIRCUMSTANCES.

KINDNESS MY MOTHER

KINDNESS

                                  MY MOTHER

About a year after my mother died, a teacher questioned me about who she was. When I finally gave her

enough information to identity my mother, the teacher said " Oh! You mean that *kind* woman! "
 I
thought

"what a great commentary on a person's life," and resolved to try to live so that could be said about me.

Through a lifetime of working with disadvantaged people, I have come to believe kindness may be the

most important quality of all.

SMILE

                                         SMILE

When I was in second grade and my parents constantly

fought and eventually got divorced, my big brother

always told me to smile. Smile, and it would be okay.

Smile, try to be optimistic, and things would get better.

And they did. It’s unhealthy to pout and be upset for

extended periods of time, so I have continued to

endeavor to live my life this way: smiling. I genuinely

value happiness and optimism over anything else in life.

If we are truly happy, I don’t think anything else really

matters. It’s impossible for any individual to be happy at

all times, but I still think it beneficial and uplifting to try.
